CEC calls on Ukrainians abroad to update their voting addresses
The Central Election Commission of Ukraine is urging citizens currently abroad to update their voting address in advance via the State Voter Register. According to a member of the CEC, the number of polling stations abroad depends directly on how many Ukrainians notify the authorities in advance of their intention to vote. The more registered voters there are, the greater the chance of opening additional polling stations. This will allow for better organisation of the vote and help avoid overcrowding. You can update your voting address online via the State Voter Register. It is a simple procedure that helps to compile accurate voter lists. Despite the availability of online services, public engagement remains low — the number of people who have already changed their voting address is still insignificant.
The commission emphasises:
➖ It is important to update your details now
➖ This will help ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted in accordance with international standards
➖ Every voter can influence the quality of the organisation of voting abroad
➖ Active registration is key to ensuring Ukrainians’ right to vote is realised outside the country
